Keoladeo National Park or Keoladeo Ghana National Park formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India is a famous avifauna sanctuary that hosts thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to be resident. It was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971. It is also a World Heritage Site. Every year thousands of migratory birds/ waterfowl visit the park for wintering and breeding.

Day 1 : 03rd February 2022 : Reach Bharatpur

We advise everyone to reach Mathura railway station by 9.00 a.m. in the morning. We start from Mathura to Bharatpur which is approx. one and half hour drive. Reach the hotel and rest. Post lunch, we start our first birding trail at Bharatpur. On this day we would explore the topography of the Bharatpur. Evening after sunset, we will return to the hotel. We will have short discussion on the birds sighted on this day and update our list. We will have an early dinner and sleep to ensure that we get good rest for the birding exploration next whole day.

Day 2: 04th February 2022 : Adventure Begins

Today, we start early. We have early breakfast at the hotel and start our full day of birding exporation. Hand Cycles would be waiting at the gates for you. Though birding and photography would be mostly on foot but all would have a hand rickshaw with you for the entire day to take care of your belongings and would be easy to access different birding points within the forest. (Please note that each cycle rickshaw would be shared by two participants). Lunch would be provided on the field. We shall rest for an hour and then have an evening birding session. Sunsets are not to be missed. Post sunset, we return to the hotel. Freshen up, have dinner and sleep. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: 05th February 2022 : At Chambal National Sanctuary

Again we will begin the day early. Post breakfast, we shall leave for Chambal National Sanctuary. National Chambal Sanctuary, also called the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary, is a 5,400 km2 (2,100 sq mi) tri-state protected area in northern India for the protection of the critically endangered gharial, the red-crowned roof turtle and the Endangered Ganges river dolphin. There are many nature watching opportunities available for visitors to the National Chambal Sanctuary. The best opportunities for sighting and photography of gharial and dolphins can be had by hiring a boat with a driver and guide, available at several points along the river. A boat excursion will also offer many viewpoints for photography of water and shore birds and landscapes. Walking trails in the ravines and along the river offer opportunities for close observation of the wide variety of plants and animals in the sanctuary. Please note: Charges for boating and guide for Chambal would be additional on actuals. Lunch at Chambal to be borne by participants themselves. Return to the hotel by evening. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4: 06th February 2022 : Last Day Tour Ends.

Today, we will have regular morning birding session and return to hotel and check out by 12 noon. Lunch at the hotel. Post lunch, we depart to Mathura  for our onward return journey.
Things to carry:
  1. Carry your id proof given at the time of booking the safaris (compulsory).
  2. Comfortable loose clothing, preferably cotton and full sleeves for summers
  3. Warm Clothes, gloves for chilly early morning explorations.
  4. Muted color clothes, which blend with the surroundings, no loud colors.
  5. Sunscreen to protect yourself from sunburn and tan.
  6. Mosquito repellant / Odomos to protect from insect bites.
  7. Reusable bottle of water, since we discourage the use of plastic/ disposable bottles.
  8. Light quick bites like peppermints, nutribars etc. for munching during the whole day long explorations. Nothing liquid or semi-liquid to be carried.
  9. Comfortable footwear, preferably sports shoes.
  10. Personal medication, if any.
  11. Portable easy to carry torch.
  12. Binoculars will be very helpful for birding and distant sightings.
  13. If you are carrying a camera, please carry spare memory card and battery.
  14. A Bandanna or a Scarf is helpful to protect yourself from sun.
  15. Good comfortable hat / cap as you will be wearing it for a long time
  16. Pocket diary and pen to make notes of the sightings and behavior.
Package Cost : Rs. 21,000 per head on twin sharing (ex Mathura) Inclusions:
  • Stay on twin sharing basis as per the plan
  • All meals starting from Lunch on day one to breakfast on the last Day.
  • Birding Trails as per plan with an expert Birding guide. (Sharing Basis).

  • Please note lunch at Chambal would be at your own cost. We shall compensate this with the Lunch on the last day after the check -out before we head towards Mathura.
Exclusions:
  • Any other services or meals which are not mentioned in the above "Includes" section.
  • Expense of personal nature such as mineral water, laundry, telephones, beverages
  • Any tips to the hotel staff, driver or guide at your will
  • Camera Charges if any. (depends upon the sizes of the lens)
  • Travel cost up to Mathura from your residence.
  • Boating and Guide fees at Chambal.
  • Lunch  at Chambal
  • Transfer from Mathura or Jaipur can be arranged at additional cost.
Payment Policy:
  • 50% of the trip cost at the time of booking.
  • Balance 50% of the trip cost one month before the trip date.
Cancellation Policy:
  •  All cancellation before 30 days of the event date – 25% of the Total Trip Cost to be deducted.
  • All cancellation between 15 to 30 days of the event date –  70% of the Total Trip Cost to be deducted.
  • All Cancellation during last 15 days – No Refund.
Cancellation due to COVID Lockdown:
  • Park Charges - As per the Forest Department Policy
  • Accommodation - A Credit Voucher or as per the Resort Policy.
