Bandhavgarh National Park, nestled in Madhya Pradesh, is renowned for its high density of Royal Bengal tigers, offering some of the best wildlife sightings in India. Pench National Park, straddling Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, is renowned for its rich biodiversity and dense teak forests. The park’s landscapes and wildlife inspired Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, making it a favourite among nature lovers.
Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can either relax after your journey or explore some of Delhi’s historical landmarks, such as India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, or Qutub Minar. The evening is at leisure, allowing you to prepare for the exciting wildlife adventure ahead. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi to Jabalpur – Transfer to Bandhavgarh
After an early breakfast, you will take a morning flight from Delhi to Jabalpur, followed by a scenic drive to Bandhavgarh National Park (approximately 4-5 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your wildlife lodge and enjoy a leisurely afternoon. In the evening, you can attend a wildlife documentary session or take a short nature walk to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Bandhavgarh.
Days 3, 4 & 5: Exploring Bandhavgarh National Park
For the next three days, you will embark on thrilling morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Bandhavgarh’s core zones—Tala, Magadhi, and Khitauli. Known for its high density of Royal Bengal Tigers, Bandhavgarh also offers opportunities to see leopards, sloth bears, wild boars, and various deer species. Apart from wildlife spotting, you can visit the historic Bandhavgarh Fort and Shesh Shaiya, an ancient rock carving of Lord Vishnu. Evenings are reserved for relaxation, wildlife discussions, and cultural performances at the lodge. Overnight stay in Bandhavgarh.
Day 6: Bandhavgarh to Kanha National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Kanha National Park (approximately 6-7 hours), one of India’s most beautiful and well-managed tiger reserves. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and unwind amidst the serene surroundings. You can take an evening nature walk or simply relax and enjoy the sounds of the jungle. Dinner and overnight stay in Kanha.
Days 7-9: Exploring Kanha National Park
Your next three days will be spent exploring the lush landscapes of Kanha National Park through morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the Kisli, Mukki, and Kanha zones. Apart from spotting tigers, Kanha is home to barasingha (swamp deer), Indian wild dogs, leopards, and an array of bird species. You will also visit the Kanha Museum to learn about the park’s conservation history and, if time permits, explore a nearby tribal village. Evenings will be filled with discussions on wildlife conservation, bonfire gatherings, and cultural performances. Overnight stay in Kanha.
Day 10: Kanha to Pench National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Pench National Park (approximately 4-5 hours), the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Upon arrival, check in at your jungle lodge and enjoy a relaxing evening, perhaps with a sunset view over the Pench River or a guided village walk. Dinner and overnight stay in Pench.
Days 11-12: Exploring Pench National Park
Over the next two days, you will embark on exciting morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Pench’s prime tiger zones. This park offers a diverse landscape of teak forests, open meadows, and water bodies, providing excellent chances to spot tigers, leopards, Indian wild dogs, jackals, and a rich variety of birds. Evenings can be spent enjoying the lodge’s amenities, attending a wildlife talk, or simply unwinding under the starlit sky. Overnight stay in Pench.
Day 13: Pench to Nagpur – Flight to Delhi & Departure
On the final day, you will have an early breakfast before driving to Nagpur (approximately 3 hours). From Nagpur, you will take a flight back to Delhi, where you can either rest at a day-use hotel or take a short city tour, depending on your flight schedule. Later, you will be transferred to the international airport for your onward journey, concluding your incredible tiger safari adventure in Central India.
