Wildlife & Heritage Tour (Delhi – Jaipur – Ranthambore – Chambal – Bharatpur – Delhi)

Delhi, the capital of India, is a vibrant blend of history and modernity, where ancient monuments stand alongside bustling markets and skyscrapers. From the majestic Red Fort and India Gate to the lively streets of Chandni Chowk and Connaught Place, the city offers a rich cultural experience. A melting pot of diverse traditions, cuisines, and architectural marvels, Delhi is the heart of India’s heritage and progress.

Jaipur, the Pink City of India, is a mesmerizing blend of royal heritage, vibrant culture, and stunning architecture. Home to magnificent forts like Amer and Nahargarh, opulent palaces such as City Palace, and bustling bazaars filled with handicrafts, it offers a glimpse into Rajasthan’s regal past. With its rich history, colorful streets, and warm hospitality, Jaipur is a must-visit destination.

Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s premier wildlife reserves, is famed for its majestic Bengal tigers and dramatic ruins of the Ranthambore Fort. Nestled in Rajasthan, the park’s rugged landscapes, dense forests, and tranquil lakes create a perfect setting for thrilling safaris. A haven for wildlife enthusiasts, it also shelters leopards, sloth bears, and a variety of bird species.

The Chambal region, known for its rugged ravines and pristine river, is a hidden gem of North India. The Chambal River Sanctuary is home to endangered species like the gharial, Gangetic dolphins, and a variety of migratory birds. Rich in history and wildlife, this untamed landscape offers a unique blend of adventure and tranquility.

Bharatpur, home to the UNESCO-listed Keoladeo National Park, is a paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers. Once a royal hunting ground, this wetland sanctuary now shelters thousands of migratory birds, including the Siberian crane. With its rich biodiversity and historical significance, Bharatpur is a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts.

Day 1: 

Arrival in New Delhi
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, begin exploring Delhi’s historical and cultural landmarks, including India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, and Qutub Minar. In the evening, visit Connaught Place for a taste of local cuisine or relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2: 

Delhi to Jaipur (Approx. 5-6 hours drive)
After breakfast, depart for Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, also known as the Pink City. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. In the afternoon, explore the City Palace, an architectural marvel blending Mughal and Rajasthani styles. Visit Jantar Mantar, the UNESCO-listed astronomical observatory. Enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner at a heritage restaurant. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 3:

Jaipur Sightseeing
Begin your day with a visit to the iconic Amber Fort, where you can enjoy an elephant ride or take a jeep to the hilltop fort. Explore its grand courtyards, palaces, and the famous Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace). Later, visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and the bustling markets of Jaipur, known for handicrafts, textiles, and jewellery. In the evening, enjoy a cultural dance performance or visit Nahargarh Fort for a panoramic sunset view. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 4: 

Jaipur to Ranthambore (Approx. 3.5 hours drive)
Post breakfast, drive to Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s best tiger reserves. Upon arrival, check in to your wildlife lodge and relax. In the afternoon, embark on your first jungle safari, exploring the rich biodiversity of the park, home to tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and diverse bird species. Evening at leisure with a wildlife documentary screening at the lodge. Overnight stay in Ranthambore.

Day 5: 

Ranthambore Safari
Start early with a morning jeep safari in Ranthambore, maximizing your chances of spotting the elusive tiger and other wildlife. After breakfast, relax at the lodge. Later, visit the historic Ranthambore Fort, offering stunning views of the park. In the evening, head for another thrilling safari in a different zone of the park. Overnight stay in Ranthambore.

Day 6: 

Ranthambore to Chambal (Approx. 5-6 hours drive)
After breakfast, depart for the Chambal River Sanctuary, a hidden gem known for its pristine ecosystem and diverse wildlife. Upon arrival, check in to your eco-lodge. In the evening, take a sunset boat safari along the Chambal River, where you can spot gharials (fish-eating crocodiles), marsh crocodiles, turtles, and a variety of water birds. Overnight stay in Chambal.

Day 7: 

Chambal Wildlife Safari & Village Exploration
Begin the day with another boat safari along the Chambal River, focusing on birdwatching opportunities, including sightings of Indian skimmers, black-bellied terns, and bar-headed geese. After breakfast, explore a nearby rural village for cultural interactions and visit Bateshwar Temples, an ancient complex along the Yamuna River. Return to the lodge for a relaxing evening. Overnight stay in Chambal.

Day 8: 

Chambal to Bharatpur (Approx. 2.5 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Bharatpur, home to Keoladeo National Park, a UNESCO-listed bird sanctuary. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a birdwatching tour inside the park, either on a cycle rickshaw or by walking trails. Spot resident and migratory birds like painted storks, pelicans, Siberian cranes (seasonal), and various species of kingfishers. Overnight stay in Bharatpur.

Day 9: 

Bharatpur Birdwatching & Return to Delhi (Approx. 4-5 hours drive)
Start the day with an early morning birding excursion in Keoladeo National Park, taking advantage of the best time to see birds in their natural habitat. After breakfast, depart for Delhi. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, exploring local markets or enjoying a farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 10: 

Departure from Delhi
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight, concluding your enriching wildlife and heritage journey through India.

Things to carry: Face Mask and Pocket Hand Sanitizers are must during the Safaris.

  • Carry your id proof given at the time of booking the safaris (compulsory).
  • Comfortable loose clothing, preferably cotton and full sleeves for summers
  • Warm Clothes, Gloves for Chilly early morning safaris.
  • Muted color clothes, which blend with the surroundings, no loud colors.
  • Sunscreen to protect yourself from sunburn and tan.
  • Mosquito repellant / Odomos to protect from insect bites.
  • Reusable bottle of water, since we discourage the use of plastic/ disposable bottles.
  • Light quick bites like peppermints, nutribars etc. for long safaris. Nothing liquid or semi-liquid to be carried.
  • Comfortable footwear, preferably sports shoes.
  • Personal medication, if any.
  • Portable easy to carry torch.
  • Binoculars are helpful for distant sightings and birding.
  • If you are carrying a camera, please carry spare memory card and battery.
  • A Bandanna or a Scarf is helpful to protect yourself from sun.
  • Good comfortable hat / cap as you will be wearing it for a long time
  • Pocket diary and pen to make notes of the sightings and behavior.
