Day 1 : 25th December 2026 : Transfer to Sattal & Afternoon Bird Hide Session
Welcome to your Sattal Birding Tour.
Upon your arrival at Khatgodam Railway Station, our representative will receive you and transfer you to your comfortable birding lodge in Sattal, one of India's premier destinations for birdwatching and bird photography. After check-in and lunch, spend some time relaxing before your first bird photography session.
In the afternoon, visit one of Sattal's renowned bird photography hides, where you'll enjoy close encounters with colourful Himalayan birds as they visit natural perches and feeding stations. This session offers an excellent introduction to the incredible avian diversity of the Kumaon region.
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 : 26th December 2026 : Morning Bird Hide Session & Chanfi Birding
Begin the day with an early visit to the bird photography hide, when bird activity is at its peak. Photograph a variety of Himalayan species in beautiful morning light under the guidance of experienced birding experts.
After breakfast and a short break, head to Chanfi, one of Uttarakhand's finest birding locations known for its rich diversity of forest birds. The combination of oak forests and mountain streams makes Chanfi an exceptional destination for bird photography throughout the winter season.
Return to Sattal in the evening.
Day 3 : 27th December 2026 : Ranikhet Pheasant Trail & Studio Point
Today you'll travel to Ranikhet, one of the best locations in the Himalayas for photographing elusive pheasants. Accompanied by experienced naturalists, search for iconic species including the Koklass Pheasant and Cheer Pheasant.
After lunch, continue to Studio Point, a favourite location among bird photographers for its excellent opportunities to photograph laughingthrushes, barbets, woodpeckers, nuthatches, and colourful Himalayan passerines.
Return to Sattal for dinner.
Day 4 : 28th December 2026 : Shyamkhet Birding & Afternoon Bird Hide
Start your day exploring Shyamkhet, another outstanding birding hotspot offering excellent opportunities to photograph woodpeckers, flycatchers, tits, laughingthrushes, shrikes, and many other Himalayan bird species.
After lunch, return to the bird photography hide for one final photography session. With your understanding of bird behaviour now well developed, you'll have the opportunity to capture even more rewarding images in the soft afternoon light.
Celebrate the successful completion of your birding adventure over dinner.
Day 5 : 29th December 2026 : Departure
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and begin your scenic drive to Delhi Airport for your onward flight.

Things to carry: Face Mask and Pocket Hand Sanitizers are must during the Safaris.
- Carry your id proof given at the time of booking the safaris (compulsory).
- Comfortable loose clothing, preferably cotton and full sleeves for summers
- Warm Clothes, Gloves for Chilly early morning safaris.
- Muted color clothes, which blend with the surroundings, no loud colors.
- Sunscreen to protect yourself from sunburn and tan.
- Mosquito repellant / Odomos to protect from insect bites.
- Reusable bottle of water, since we discourage the use of plastic/ disposable bottles.
- Light quick bites like peppermints, nutribars etc. for long safaris. Nothing liquid or semi-liquid to be carried.
- Comfortable footwear, preferably sports shoes.
- Personal medication, if any.
- Portable easy to carry torch.
- Binoculars are helpful for distant sightings and birding.
- If you are carrying a camera, please carry spare memory card and battery.
- A Bandanna or a Scarf is helpful to protect yourself from sun.
- Good comfortable hat / cap as you will be wearing it for a long time
- Pocket diary and pen to make notes of the sightings and behavior.
