About the Forest

Pench National Park or Pench Tiger Reserve is located on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, which is at 70 kms. from Nagpur. It is located on the boundary of Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh, close to Maharashtra’s northern border. The reserve lies in the forest belt that extends to Balaghat in the east and Nagpur district to the south.

Home to a variety of flora and fauna, Pench National Park’s dense forests, grasslands, and water bodies provide a diverse habitat for numerous species. Among its star attractions is the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, which draws visitors from all over the world in hopes of catching a glimpse of this elusive creature.

Apart from tigers, Pench is also inhabited by other iconic wildlife, including leopards, Indian bison (gaur), spotted deer, sambar deer, wild dogs, and various bird species. Reach Nagpur in morning and Drive to Pench. Check in and post lunch we go for the first Jungle Safari. Have evening tea, rest and meet for Dinner. Overnight at the Resort

Entire Day at Pench. We have two safaris on this day. One in the Morning and other in the afternoon. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included

Reach Nagpur and drive to your Resort. Post Lunch we go for our First Jungle Safaris. Dinner and Overnight at the Resort

Our Standard Pench National Park Tour Packages are for 2 nights with 3 Jungle Safaris or 3 Nights with 5 Jungle Safaris. For 3 Nights / 4 Days Package with 5 Safaris we shall have one more day and would be similar to Day 2.

Pench Safari Booking

Booking a safari at Pench National Park can be done online through the official forest department portals, depending on whether you are entering from the Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra side. Permits for the Madhya Pradesh zones are available on forest.mponline.gov.in, while Maharashtra safari bookings are managed through safaribooking.mahaforest.gov.in. Safari slots open 90 to 120 days in advance, and it is advisable to book early, especially during peak seasons from October to June. Visitors can choose between morning and evening safaris, and either reserve an entire gypsy or opt for single-seat bookings (available only on the MP side).

Your Pench Jungle Safari

Pench Jungle Safari Timings

Safari timings of Pench National Park changes according to the seasons. However, during the monsoon season, the park remains shut for tourists as it is a breeding season of the wild animals. Therefore, as a tourist attraction, the park remains open from 1st October to 30th June. In the winter season, the timings of the morning jeep safari in Pench National Park starts from 6:30 am to 11:00 am, whereas, the evening safari starts from 3:00 pm which lasts till 5:30 pm. For the months of summer, the safari timing changes and scheduled from 5:30 am to 11:00 am for the morning batch and 4:00 pm to 6:45 pm for the evening batch.

Pench Safari Zones

Pench National Park has various safari zones – Turia, Karmajhiri, Jamtara, Rukhad, Telia Buffer, on the MP side of Pench. Zones – Sillari and Khursapar are at the Maharashtra Side of the Pench Forest. Turia is considered as the most prominent zone for tiger sightings. The zone has numerous water bodies, and hence, the chances of spotting wild animals around these streams are more as compared to other zones. However, if you prefer night safari to explore the Pench National Park then Telia Buffer also known as  Wolf Sanctuary is the perfect zone for that.

Climate at Pench National Park

Pench National Park has usually tropical climate, and is warm during the summer, and cold in winter. Winters, temperature ranging between 3º C to 16º C, are the most comfortable season to visit the park, but it doesn’t guarantee good wildlife viewing. Summers (April – June), temperature soaring from 26º C to 42º C, are the best time to view rich wildlife in the park.

Seoni is linked to all places in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra by a good network of Roadways. Pench on the Nagpur- Jabalpur highway is accessible by local transport options such as taxis, private car transfers etc.

Wildlife

The park is rich in bird life too. According to an estimate of the wildlife authorities, the park harbours more than 210 species including several migratory ones. Some of them are peafowl, junglefowl, crow pheasant, crimson-breasted barbet, red-vented bulbul, racket-tailed drongo, Indian roller, magpie robin, lesser whistling teal, pintail, shoveller, egret and herons, minivet, oriole, wagtail, munia, myna, waterfowl and common kingfisher.
